Invisible Workers

Before artist (and nanny) Ramiro Gomez began painting cardboard cutouts of mostly Latin@ people and placing them in white affluent areas, Gomez would paint domestic workers onto the pictures of magazines. By painting nannies, housekeepers, and gardeners onto the images, Gomez emphasizes the hard work that is placed into creating these beautiful rooms—a reality we often choose to forget.
